Associazione Italiana Magnetismo

Si è costituita il 24 febbraio 2011 l'Associazione Italiana di Magnetismo, nel corso del convegno nazionale Magnet 2011, organizzato dall'Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica (INRIM) presso il Centro Congressi «Torino Incontra» di Torino. L'associazione nasce con l'intento di sostenere, promuovere e valorizzare la ricerca italiana sul magnetismo, un settore in rapida evoluzione sia dal punto di vista degli studi fondamentali che da quello delle applicazioni in nuove tecnologie, tra cui magetoelettronica e biomedicale. L'associazione favorisce inoltre la formazione delle nuove generazioni di ricercatori e si propone come interlocutore con il mondo industriale. L'iniziativa pone l'Italia sullo stesso piano di altri paesi europei, come l'Inghilterra e la Spagna, ed extraeuropei, come gli Stati Uniti ed il Giappone, dove associazioni della stessa natura esistono da tempo e svolgono un prezioso ruolo seminale presso le rispettive comunità scientifiche nazionali.

Welcome to the Italian Association of Magnetism

AIMagn has been offcially set during Magnet 2011, the second Italian conference on magnetism, held in Torino, from February 23 through 25, 2011. 

After the first Magnet'09 Conference held in Rome, on Oct. 27-29, 2009, the community decided to have its own web site to:

1. Report detailed information on the groups and people working on the different flavours of magnetism  (Starting with a census of the groups and facilities - to be uploaded soon)
2. Collect information of the upcoming national and international events of magnetism (conferences, etc).
3. Find a place where find new collaborations

The event section reports information about

• National and international conferences, workshop and meetings
• Every events related to community of magnetism
  
• Publication of high relevant scientific papers

Be part of the community!

The maintenance of a large and up-to-date website needs a lot of time and effort. Only a large participation can make this site useful for all! We are still at the beginning of the preparation but very soon we will need people to:

• Take responsibility of a small part of the website to keep constantly up-to-date
  
• Make suggestions/ideas on how to improve it
  
• …and many more.
